Welcome to the website of the
Lane End Parish Council
A group of picturesque villages located in the
Unitary Authority of Buckinghamshire
The Parish of Lane End is a great place to live!
Set high in The Chilterns it is a cluster of five “ Ends “- Bolter, Cadmore, Lane, Moor and Wheeler. Each has a distinctive character and heritage.
It is a diverse but coherent parish linked not just by road but by a myriad of footpaths, a sense of belonging and a thousand years of history.
It is a vibrant community full of enterprise and endeavour.
It would be hard to find a better place in which to work, rest and play.
Update on the Sale of the Chalky Field site.
Lane End Parish Council has decided to sell the Chalky Field site and use the proceeds to benefit the community.
In principle the Parish Council has agreed to the sale of land at Chalky Field, located on the Marlow Road, Lane End.
The successful bidder is Nicholas King Homes Ltd who are in the process of securing planning permission for 27 homes of varying occupancy including some affordable dwellings.
From the funds that are likely to be received over the next 18 months, the Council wishes to proceed with the proposed improvement works currently within its portfolio:
The provision of a new children’s play area at the playing fields to suit children 2-11 years old.
The construction of a disabled toilet with integrated baby changing facilities, together with enhancement of the internal accommodation and catering facilities at the clubhouse on the playing fields.
Increased car parking and realignment of the access road to the playing fields to improve traffic flow to and from the playing fields.
This proposal also includes the provision of some formal residential parking.
Improvement works to the village ponds located on The Row, Marlow Road and Ditchfield Common.
Concurrent with the pond work on The Row, an extension of the footpath to ease access to the local bus stop.
Other projects are being considered but are not sufficiently developed at this moment.
All of the works listed above are still subject to final confirmation by Council.
The Parish Council would welcome comments from Parishioners on the above projects and any new ideas.
The Parish Council would also welcome interested Parish-based organisations or individuals seeking funding for projects that are meaningful and would benefit the community to submit an Expression of Interest to the Council.
Any award to successful projects will not exceed £200k for any one submission.
We highly recommend the projects you submit to be capable of match funding where possible.
The applicants for projects deemed appropriate will be invited to meet with a working group appointed by the Council. Fully detailed and costed applications are not a requirement at this time, although an indication on the likely cost of the project would be helpful.
In due course, applications under consideration will be required to submit sufficiently detailed and considered information on their schemes, and to be suitably represented at a public review.
The date and timing of this review will be advised in due course.
Comments and applications should be submitted no later than 31 January 2025 and can be undertaken online to: clerk@laneendparishcouncil.gov.uk or by post to: The Parish Clerk Lane End Parish Council, PO Box 1616 High Wycombe HP12 9FS (if using the post, it is advised to use recorded delivery).
Please mark the envelope CF project.
